It's A Kind Of Magic...Miu Miu AW12...
So just perusing my own blog of a Saturday afternoon , as you do, and i noticed to my horror that i had left out one of my favourite shows for Paris fashion week! Now, let it be noted that it perhaps isn't my favourite in terms of performance (yes i know it's not theatrical!) but has to be my most favoured fashion house since i bought my first bag way back in 2006. Ahhh Miu Miu, you are things that only dreams are made of!!!
The cast of models was almost as impressive as the celebrity audience. Mia Wasikowska, the latest face of Miu Miu along with Katy Perry were there to witness the unleashing of the AW12 collection. Perry was in matching blue coat and blue hair with baby pink dress, like a real little candy girl's dream! Meanwhile Miranda Kerr, Doutzen Kroes, Natasha Poly and Karlie Kloss were working the runway in what can only be described as modern day pyschedelic-inspired outfits!
Dresses were kept to a minimum and the ones that were produced came in a mini 60's style tunic with mirrored embellishment. Jewels were as key to the beauty as to the clothes, models had them not only on their wears but also on their eyes. Sound painful??! Looked oh so beautiful!
The Edwardian silhouette was slightly reminiscent of the earlier Louis Vuitton show. With frock coat shapes over cropped and tailored trousers. These were awash with the most fabulous 70's print. Platforms were in silver and mahogany topped with glittering rainbow embellishments!
Keeping up with the masculine aspect featured in many of the other houses, were mannish suits in an array of blue, green, mustard and plum. Pefect autumnal hues. Ruffle-fronted shits accompanied the suits that slowly made their way into prints of pink and blue, raspberry and turquoise, orange and brown and many, many more. I am sure you can totally understand the earlier psychedelic comment!!
