Chanel Is A Way Of Life...AW12...

And the show we have all been waiting for. The show of all shows from Lagerfeld himself. Never one to step away from being contoversial, despite his comments surrounding the cockney songstress or the uproar around under-age models! Hence why Karl sent out a three year old boy carrying a Chanel bag! Controversy personified??! Probably, but he totally works it and gets away with it. Because let's face it, Chanel is THEE brand to know, wear and BE!!!

The Grand Palais was decked out to create the most perfect setting. Ornate and elaborate. Surrounded by glitter and jewels the models stalked on down that runway. Miranda Kerr, Lindsey Wixson, Lily Donaldson to name just a few. Chanel beauties with perfectly arched glitter eyebrows in tow! (If this were Scouse wives or the Essex lot they would have some wierd and wonderful name for that!!!)
Following along with the trends, we saw lots of layering creating great shapes in their wake. Trousers under skirts, under a blouse, under a jacket, under an oversized coat! (Looks like now is the time to bag yourself that coat. The last one on the rack that SEEMS too big but totally isn't! I've got mine!!!) These coats come with embellishment in the form of jewels and feathers (just like Galliano!) We even saw a luxe-tweed Parka with a mightily sequinned hood!!

The colour palette ran through petrol green, indigo and purple with embellishments ranging from emerald to amethyst to sapphire. In the later stages we even saw that same pink and mustard introduced in to the collection!

Wide shoulders are definitely prevalent for the AW12. Lagerfeld used these on trench coats, belted and worn with glittering snoods and boots with perspex heels (very Dries of last season!) And more glitter came in the way of the investment trouser - crushed velvet jeans, mmm perfect for the Fall weather!
Still in keeping with the Chanel heritage, pearl-embellished belts were seen on lace dresses. There were chiffon pussy bow blouses and a use of lame on the futuristic style wool coats!

It truly was a spectacle of colour and texture. Following along the same lines of the houses gone-by, Karl has definitely become a Master of the Dark Arts!!!Xxx
