Just a few words associated with Hermes' AW12 collection.
With Jean Paul Gaultier preceding Christophe Lemaire to the head of the Hermes house he certainly had EXTREMELY big shoes to fill! But with Hermes muse Jane Birkin front row i think he is defintiely carrying the torch high for for the team!!!
The labels aesthetic has always been based on travel and i think this shall always be the case! With cashmere ponchos, fedoras, suede coats, bodice-front dresses and the seasons signature mannish tailoring, the look is most certainly put together to make it seem effortlessly chic. Some patterns are prevalent in the later stages of the show, mainly printed silk shirts paired with pleated balloon trousers. Other then these the colour palette is block and dark! And just to prove that Hermes isn't only aimed at the "young", Lemaire sent 52 year old French actress and singer Bambou down the catwalk to close the show!!!
Always giving the feel of understated luxury, the Hermes label certainly upholds its wonderful heritage.
