Shiny, Happy People...
SS12 is set to shine beyond all other seasons. Clashing prints, mis-matched colours, yellows, pinks, pastels galore. Yes indeed, 'tis the season to make you stand out in the crowd!
Metallics and brocades and shiny patent rocked the catwalks of Giles Deacon, Kane and Nicoll. Christopher Bailey for Burberry had us shaking in our seats as the models strutted their stuff in chic sportswear. Hoodies with raffia trims are a must, especially when worn with full-bodied skirts. (Think fifties-inspired from Jonathan Saunders!)
Mary Katrantzou outshone them all with her passion for mismatched patterns. Off the shoulder numbers worn with messy up-do's, perfect for that 'Oh this?! It's just something i threw on' look! And white is back big time. Paul Smith delivers us a tailored trouser suit, cropped pant an all, while Dolce gives us the (topless) men in shorts (ahhh divine!)
Erdem goes head over heels for florals, buttoned up shirts and ankle skimming trousers. Straight to the opposite side of the scale with Giles showcasing metallic pencil skirts. The only skirt to be seen in next season. Strong silhouettes with an air of power for the woman (and it's about bloody time if you ask me!)
Unfussy dressing is what SS12 is all about. Pastels, yellows and whites. Prints are literally everywhere but not ones that are going to leave you blending in. The clashier, the bolder the better. This is the season to get noticed! From tribal prints to country florals...bye, bye colour blocking and minis, SS12 is set to bring the ultimate in grown up fashion. Lace, pencil skirts, tassels and fringing...ahhhhh i can't wait already!!!Xxx
