Dior SS13...
The collection all have been waiting for! Raf Simons' debut collection for Dior. You may remember posts about his appointment at the fashion house earlier in the year, then his offering back in July for the Couture collection. Everyone then waited with bated breath to see what he had in store for the fashion world.
He gave us expertly tailored jackets, jacket dresses, mini ball-gown numbers in puffs of pinks and metallics. The mini reigned throughout and as Vogue.com aptly put it 'it was emblematic of freedom and liberation.' Feminine and complex. There were black and pink short dresses, some clung to the body, others in pleats and chiffon overlays, floral motifs and multi-coloured shoes with the thinnest of heels to boot! The Couture collection was chic, just as you would imagine, however, this swapped the trousers for shorts, keeping the mini reigning supreme.
We had the Dior tailoring combined with Simons' playful nature, all in all it created the perfect debut collection for the fashion house. They wanted a storm and they got one, one of perfection, pink and puffballs!!!
