Versace Atelier...
Having not graced the couture catwalk since 2004, it was about time Donatalla made a show-stopping return with her jaw-dropping femmes (Lindsey Wixon and Karlie Kloss just to name but a few!) The Ritz, Paris was THE place to be, if only to see Versace AW12 showcase their stunning collection!
“It was really nice to see her show couture again, it felt right that she did it,” said Vogue fashion director Lucinda Chambers, noting there to be two main thrusts to the collection: strapped-in bondage corset dresses or cut strips of leather combined with chainmail mesh. “Both of these were totally signature Donatella Versace, but really updated.” (Vogue.com)
Veronica lake waves, lashings of gold with a somewhat soft colour palette, chains, corset silhouettes, flowing maxis in pink and lilac, glittering gowns with a sufficient amout of leg on show. Girly charm with a hint of mystery. But what else would you expect??! Perfect. All in all, typical Versace, bursting with feminine charm and utter sex appeal.
