'Stella May Day'...
Fingers crossed at the ready please.
If i manage to bag the Stella McCartney job (interviewing on my day of birth...it's gonna be make or break for the joyfulness of this day!!) i will be the happiest 28 year old around!
Another year older and i have to say a little bit wiser. I know it is not quite yet upon us but what with all the changes happening i feel as though i am finally growing up. (I realise this remains to be seen!)
Stella has to be my all time fave, and not just because her father was a member of my number one band growing up! Her collections are nothing short of amazing and its easy to see why she has such a cult following!
With Savile Row roots (totally evident in her sharply tailored cuts and structured dresses) Stella studied at Central St. Martins after a brief stint with Lacroix as a teenager. Her graduation collection saw the likes of Naomi Campbell, Yasmin Le Bon and Kate Moss walking for her.
Stella was appointed chief designer at Chloe, her collections there received commercial and critital success. Lagerfeld was dubious with thir choice, but she did the label proud.
In 2001 Stella went it alone and launched her own eponymous line. Wearable, distinctly feminine, leather-free and utterly chic. Every womans wardrobe should have a piece of Stella.
Wool Tuxedo £1175.
Crep and faux leather dress £645.
(Clashing fabrics and leather, team with this seasons thigh-high and you have the subtle feminine take on fetish!!)
Back to the New Mod era with this Herringbone Tweed coat £995!
Falabella Quilted Bucket bag (leather-free remember!) £750.
Days Of The Week Briefs £130.
And if you're wanting something a little more glam...
Clara Whispering Silk-Satin Chemise £180. Utterly, utterly stunning!
Faux leather thigh-highs £595. Hmmm, perfect!
And my personal favourite of Stella's has to be her take on the latest trend of polka dots. Shown in previous posts i know, but this is simply how much i love it. Check out how amazing Jane Fonda looks in this little beauty...
WOW!!!!!
A little bit of Stella a day can keep the working-all-weekend blues away!!!Xxx
